Mike Larsen, of Larsen Studio & Gallery, is a well know Contemporary American Artist.

His studio, to which you are invited to visit, is located at 5423 E. 122 in Perkins. Studio hours are typically 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. everday, but you should call 405.210.4945 just to be sure.

Mike's studies of traditional art disciplines have led him to work moslty in painting and sculpture with several mediums, including bronze. His focus is heavily influenced by Indian Culture and religious depictions. He spends most of his time creating artworks commissioned by Governments, Corporations and Individuals.

Some of his most recent work:

A 12-foot high bronze sculpture, portraying the range of patient care provided at St. Joseph's Healthcare System through the figures of a surgeon, a Sister of Charity, as well as young and elderly patients. Each figure faces one of the four compass directions representing solidity with the Sister facing true north gazing toward the entrance of the hospital. The sculpture, presented to the St. Joseph's Healthcare System, NJ, will be repositioned at the center of the main entry courtyard when construction of the circular driveway area is completed.

Volume II of Living Elders of the Chickasaw Nation, Proud to be Chickasaw, was unveiled September 30, 2010. This is Larsen's second book and the release was in conjunction with the annual Chickasaw Festival in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Mike and Martha Larsen, with Jeannie Barbour, tell 23 more Elder's stories and Mike's sketches and paintings are again featured. Books will be available at Larsen Studio, then in early 2011, will be available at Amazon.com and other booksellers.

Mike is represented by Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Sanders Gallery in Tucson, Pierson Gallery in Tulsa and Joy Reed Belt in Oklahoma City.
